Dhanamanjuri College of Teacher Education (DMCTE), Imphal got its’ birth from the first ever Education Department of the erstwhile D. M. College, in 1952. In 1972, after Manipur got its statehood on 21st January 1972, it enjoyed a separate existence as Teacher Training College, and later on it was renamed as Post Graduate Training College on 15th September 1972. Acclaimed as one of the top B. Ed College in India by Indian Education.com, the D. M. College of Teacher Education was upgraded to the level of College of Teacher Education (CTE), as a token of recognition from National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi in 1997. It is the only government Teacher Education College in Manipur with efficient and experienced faculty members.The College is imparting teacher education both to B. Ed and M. Ed students. The intake capacity for the B. Ed course determined by NCTE is 230 and that of M. Ed is 25.Every classroom has a provision for carrying out transactions through electronic media. One classroom is fitted with complete public address system.The modern teaching methodology assists the students in getting an all around view of engineering, technology and the entrepreneur world. The diligent faculty team of the college possesses hands-on experience and up to date knowledge of their subject and area of expertise. The infrastructure and facilities of DMCTE consists of spread-out campus alongside various amenities in the form of library, computer center, classrooms with proper teaching and learning aids, medical facilities etc.
