Majha College for Women was established in 2009 under the management of Majha Public Educational Managing Society, with the sole of aim of empowering the women of Majha region with quality and employment oriented education so that they can become self-dependent and contribute towards the socio-economic development of the country. MajhaCollegefor Women is affiliated toGuruNanakDevUniversity,Amritsar. It provides Graduate and Postgraduate degree courses in Commerce, Economics, IT, Non – Medical, and Language streams. In addition to the university affiliated degree courses, MCW also comprise a full-fledged higher secondary education (+1, +2) department in Commerce, Medical, Non-Medical, and Humanities Streams. The higher secondary education department is affiliated to Punjab School Education Board.

Management and Staff’s consistent efforts to introduce new graduate and post graduate degree courses has enabled MCW to establish itself as a leading women’s college in the Tarn-Taran district. In terms of student strength and university results, MCW have surpassed all other colleges of the region in such a short span since its formation.
