Institute of Cooperative management Bhopal was established for contributing towards human resource development of cooperative sector in Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh. The institute is imparting cooperative education, management education, research and consultancy since 1956. This institute was initially located in Indore which was later shifted to Bhopal in 1996. This is 100% grant- in – aid institute under department of Cooperation & Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. This is one of the 19 institutes under the administrative control of National Council for Cooperative Training, New Delhi. The institute offers short term and long term training programmes, Higher Diploma in Cooperative Management and sectoral certificate programmes. Besides, institutes offer Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) affiliated to Barkatullah University, Bhopal. The Institute offers training programmes in area of accountancy, audit, marketing, cooperation, law, rural development, human resource development and computer. Institute also offers sponsor programmes in collaboration with Forward Market Commission (Mumbai), National Institute of Agriculture Market (Jaipur), Warehousing Development & Regulation Authority (New Delhi), Directorate General of Resettlement, (New Delhi), Institute is accredited by All India Council for Technical Education (New Delhi), and Banker Institute of Rural Development, (Lucknow), Institute is adjusted third best performing institute for academic excellence among the 19 institutes of National Council for Cooperative Training in year 2014.
