The Porbandar city is famous as the Pious Land of Shri Sudamaji who was a childhood friend of Shri Krishna Bhagvan ( Thou art one of Lords of Hindu ) and also as the Birth Place of the Father of the Nation, greatly Honourable Mahatma Mohadas Karamchand Gandhi ( Gandhiji ) and is located at the Sea Sore of Arabic Ocean.

In such a nice city the Ramba Graduate Teachers' College, Porbandar is situated near the Sea Sore. The history of the College is quite interesting. In this region of Saurashtra, this college is established by Govt. of Gujarat. His Highness of the Porbandar, Maharana Shri Natvarsinhji has gifted building of the college in memory of his beloved mother with the noble cause of education purpose with saying : "You nurture your student teachers as my mother nurtured me". Hence in yr. 1955 the College was established by the Govt. of Gujarat and is registered as "Ramba Graduate Teachers' College, Porbandar"

Presently our institution is under the Governing Body GCERT, Education Department, Govt. of Gujarat. R.G. College provides both Pre-service and in-service teacher training programmes. In pre-service there are B.Ed. and M.Ed. Programmes and in in-service there is CTE. R. G. Teachers’ College upgraded as CTE since 2008 and presently covers three districts named Porbandar, Junagadh and Jamnagar for providing in-service training to Secondary School Teachers.
