Kaviyattu College of Education has been established in 2006 as a B.Ed college with the aim of developing the inherent capabilities of students aspiring to be teacher.
Kaviyattu College of Education is located in Pirappancode, a rural hamlet in Thiruvanthapuram (Trivandrum) district in Kerala. The college offers professional 1 year B.Ed Degree Training Programmes with core specializations in English, Physical Science, Natural Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Commerce.
The teaching faculty of the college consists of a team of dedicated teachers including teachers for computer application, Physical and health education and work experience.
The personality of an individual has different aspect – social, physical, intellectual, aesthetic etc. Under the inspiring efforts of the teaching faculty, by integrating a holistic and systematic pattern in each of our programmes, we could develop into a model teaching community.
Students are encouraged to visit remote areas in and around the village to provide programmes on various aspects and counseling programmes for uneducated village students and also conduct tuition classes for poor pupils in the neighborhood.
Kaviyattu College of Education takes an integrated approach to teaching. The college conduct training programmes and extracurricular activities including seminars, debates, symposium, panel discussions, exhibition etc. Improvised teaching aids are prepared by the students and distributed to nearby school of this college prepare subject wise magazines.
A lecture series was conducted with participation of eminent personalities in the education inoculating conductive values in students. Conscientization programs and awareness programs were conducted with eminent personalities in the academic year. Students participated in various inter collegiate competition and have came out victorious.
