Categories of students

  • Full-Time Students: Applicants who join full-time programs are required to devote full time on campus for Ph.D. Some candidates may be offered research/teaching/project assistantship. Those candidates are required to assist in teaching/laboratories under the guidance of a mentor.
  • Part-Time Students: Applicants will be admitted under this category who are working in organizations situated in close vicinity of the University.
  • Sponsored Students: Applicants will be admitted under this category who are employees of Organizations/Industries having collaborations with the university.


Eligibility for admission

  • Candidate must have passed Master’s Degree with a minimum of 55% marks in which he/she intends to pursue the course of this University or any other University/Institute recognized as equivalent by this University.
  • Candidate has to clear the (Entrance Examination) who are seeking admission to the Doctoral program of the University. The Entrance Examination is to be conducted annually by the University.
  • The candidates are exempted from appearing the Entrance Examination who have qualified the UGCCSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/UGC-NET (including JRF)/GATE/teacher fellowship holder or have passed the M.Phil program.
  • For getting the selection for admission candidates have to appear a viva-voce/ interview. 
  • A candidate may also be considered for admission to the Ph.D. program who have B.E./B.Tech Degree with a valid JRF-GATE score.
  • The applicants shall have to take admission for a Six-Month Course Work who are eligible.
  • M. Phil degree holders are exempted from the course work.


Selection Process

  • Candidates will be selected on the base of overall performance in Entrance Examination, Post Graduate degree, Personal Interview, and facilities available.
  • Candidates who have sponsored projects and have qualified CSIR/UGC NET, they will be given preference.
  • Written Entrance Test: Qualifying marks for entrance tests are 50%. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% shall be subject-specific and 50% of research methodology. Candidates may be exempted from the entrance test who have qualified the UGC/GPAT/GATE/SLET/CSIR (JRF)/NET/M.Phil. or any other national level test after graduation. The interview is compulsory for all applicants
  • Personal Interview: Candidates will be selected for a Personal interview who clears the written entrance examination.


Entrance Test Fee 

  • For Open Category 850/- (Non-Refundable)
  • For Reserved Category 600/-(Non-Refundable)
  • The fee is Non-Refundable.
  • Fee can be paid through the Online Payment Gateway facility.
  • Candidate can choose more than one subject for the entrance test however he has to submit the fee separately for each subject and has to appear for the entrance test of each subject.


Entrance Test Details

  • The entrance will have 50 questions of two marks each with multiple choices. 
  • The total marks for the entrance test will be 100 marks.
  • 50% marks are qualifying marks for the entrance test. 
  • 5% relaxation of marks will be given to SC/ST/VJ-NT/OBC (Non- Creamy layers)/ SEBC(Non-Creamy layers)/EWS/ Differently- abled category.
  • No negative marking in the entrance test.
  • 50% of questions are based on research methodology and 50% shall be subject-specific.
  • The duration for the Entrance Test will be for two hours.
  • The quota for admission shall be 10% for other university students and 90% for Home University students.

Course Work: Credit Requirements, number, length, schedule, least guidelines for culmination, and so forth for M.Phil./Ph.D. program will be as under M.Phil. or on the other hand Ph.D. course work will be at least 08 credits and a limit of 16 credits.
