Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) is situated in Kota in the territory of Rajasthan. It was built up in 2006 by the Government of Rajasthan to upgrade the specialized training in the state. The college has been built up in the grounds of the University College of Engineering, Kota (recently known as Engineering College, Kota), which is situated on the Rawatbhata Road, around 14 km from Kota Railway Station and 10 km from Kota Bus Stand. Duration of Programme

  • Minimum Duration is 3 Years for Full-Time Scholars and 4 Years for Part-Time Scholars.
  • The maximum Duration is 6 Years.
  • Relaxation of two years for a Ph.D. in the maximum duration may be given to women scholars and persons with disabilities (more than 40% disability).


Eligibility for Ph.D. Admission

  • Applicant should have a PG degree with 55% of marks from an academic institution recognized by UGC.
  • Candidates are exempted from the entrance examination who have passed UGC-CSIR NET/JRF/SLET/M.Phil./GATE/Teacher Fellow.


Selection Procedure

  • The candidate will be selected on the base of the Entrance Test and Interview. 
  • The Entrance Test will be consist of 50% of Research Methodology and 50% subject-specific. 
  • RTU-DAT for a department shall consist of two papers of a total of 300 marks. 
  • Paper I shall be held in the FIRST session carrying 100 marks and Paper II shall be held in the SECOND session carrying 200 marks. 


Application Procedure

  • Competitors who want to join the Ph.D. program will acquire the endorsed Application Form for "Selection test and Provisional Registration" from the University Website.
