General eligibility
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 55 % marks (or 5.5 CGPA on a 10‑point scale). An M.Phil. in the same or a related field waives the entrance test, subject to university approval.
- Age: No upper limit; candidates must be at least 21 years old on the admission day.
- Validity: The qualifying degree must be recognised by UGC/AICTE and obtained within the last ten years (a two‑year relaxation is allowed for genuine research gaps).
- English: If your prior medium of instruction was not English, a minimum TOEFL iBT 60 or IELTS 6.0 may be asked for.

Selection process
