Ph.D. admission guidelines

  • Candidate can apply for admission who have passed Post Graduate Degree with 55% marks or with an equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA).
  • Applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled categories will get a relaxation of 5 % in the required percentage of marks.
  • An applicant has to appear for RET (Research Entrance Test) for admission to the Ph.D program followed by a personal Interview.
  • Applicants shall be exempted from RET who have qualified in GATE/NET/SET/GPAT examination of the apex bodies as ICMR/DBT/CSIR/UGC/ICAR/AICTE or M.Phil Degree in a relevant subject or senior citizen of the age of 60 years or Candidates such as Industry Professional/Employee of Government/Advocate/Doctor/Artist/Semi-Government Organizations and 10 years of professional experience.
  • RET would comprise of evaluating the applicant in two papers,
  • Paper-1: Research Methodology 50 marks
  • Paper-2: Discipline in which the applicant intends to do Ph.D.  50 marks
  • The duration of the entrance test shall be of two-hour duration (i.e. 120 minutes).
  • Qualifying marks for the entrance exam will be 50% marks.
  • Personal Interview which will carry 50 marks will be held for all selected applicants.

Registration after Interview 

  • The candidate will present his/her Ph.D. proposition alongside the temporary Ph.D. affirmation enrollment structure. 
  • The candidate will be required to introduce a concise introduction before the RC. 
  • From that point, the Committee will set up a report based on the introduction. If there should arise an occurrence of any recommendation given by the Committee for development in the examination proposition, the candidate will make changes in like manner and will introduce the exploration proposition again before the said Committee inside 3 months of the prior introduction. 
  • The date of the fruitful introduction will be treated as the date of temporary confirmation of the competitor and the up-and-comer will be given a temporary enrollment/affirmation letter. 
  • If there should be an occurrence of any debate/issue, Dean-Research will take a fitting choice. If where Dean-Research is Head of Place of Research, the ViceChancellor will take a fitting choice. 


Cancellation of Registration 

  • If Research Scholar neglects to consent to rules of participation as specified. 
  • If a Research Scholar (full time) stays missing for a persistent time of about a month without earlier hint/assent of leave, the affirmation will be ended (aside from in exceptional cases). 
  • If he/she leaves the Ph.D. Program the acquiescence ought to be appropriately suggested by the Supervisor. 
  • If he/she neglects to recharge his enlistment in any semester (subject to the arrangement contained in the University Ordinances). 
  • If his/her exploration progress is discovered unsuitable. 
  • If he/she doesn't clear the course work assessment inside determined time/reviews as specified.
