The Assam Kaziranga University Ph.D. Admission

Disciplines-

Information Technology, Sociology, Social Science, Management Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering, Computing Science, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Eligibility criteria

Candidate should have Master's degree in Technology/ Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 60% marks or a Master's Degree in Social Science / Science/  Humanities with a minimum of 55% marks. For SC/ST and specially-abled candidates, 5% relaxation will be given.

Prescribed Fees for Ph.D. Programmes

• Admission Fees : Rs 20,000/-
• Caution Deposit: Rs.10,000/- (Refundable)
• Thesis fees: Rs.10,000/- (at the time of submission of the thesis)

Academic Fee: 

• Rs. 50,000/- per semester (For Physics, Chemistry and Engineering &Technology)
• Rs. 35,000/- per semester (For NET/GATE qualified candidates in last two year or Physics, Chemistry and Engineering &Technology candidates having 75% marks throughout his/her career) 
• Rs. 30,000/-per semester (for others streams)
• Rs. 25,000/- per semester (for NET qualified in last two years candidates or other category candidates having 60% marks throughout his/her career)

Admission procedure

• The guidelines for admissions for Ph.D programme are as follows.
• On the base of merit in written test and interview candidates shall be admitted in the Ph.D programme.
• Kaziranga University Eligibility and Scholastic Test for Research, KUEST is the entrance test which qualifying candidates will be required to take.
• NET-JRF/LS of CSIR-UGC/GATE cleared candidates shall be exempted from KUEST.

About Entrance Test

Time will be given three hours for the two section of the entrance test.

Section 1 will consist of :

• General Awareness
• English Language
• Logical Reasoning
• Quantitative Data Analysis and Interpretation

Section 2 will consist of :

• Ph.D. Programme (research interest area)
• Knowledge/subject.
• Personal Interview will carry 100 marks.
• The overall merit will be calculated out of 300 marks (Section 1, Section 2 & PI)
