SVVU PhD Admission 2026 - About, Fee Structure and How to Apply

Applications are invited by Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University for admission into Ph.D. program for session 2020-21. 85% seats are for students belonging to Andhra Pradesh and 15% of seats are open for candidates of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Candidates are exempted from appearing entrance examinations who have qualified ICAR SRF (PG).

Qualifications

  • Candidate should have Master of Science or an equivalent examination in Veterinary Science with at least 70% marks in the aggregate from SVVU/ANGRAU or from an institution accredited by ICAR. 60% marks in the aggregate will be eligible in the case of SC, ST and PH candidates. The Basic Degree i.e. B.V.Sc & A.H. is essential.


Age: The upper age limit is 50 years.

Criteria for Selection

The Weightage of marks will be as follows:

  • Entrance Test: 50
  • M.V.Sc level: 20
  • B.V.Sc level: 10
  • Interview performance: 20
  • Total of 100

The qualifying marks in the entrance test shall be 50%.

The duration of the Entrance Test will be one hour.

100 multiple choice questions each of one mark weightage.

About University 

The Andhra Veterinary College was begun on fifteenth July 1955 at Bapatla. Therefore, the College was moved to Tirupati during 1957 heavily influenced by Sri Venkateswara University. Subsequent to the arrangement of A.P. Rural University (by and by named as Acharya N.G.Ranga Agricultural University), this school came into its crease from July 10, 1964. 

The College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati praised its Golden Jubilee year during July 2004-2005. The then Hon'ble Chief Minister, while introducing the Golden Jubilee Celebration on 30th September 2004 declared the development of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University at Tirupati by bifurcating ANGRAU.
