Rules For Admission

  • A candidate who wants to take admission to Ph.D. is required to write the entrance examination.
  • A candidate who has cleared the entrance examination shall be called for the personal interview. In the interview, candidates are required to discuss their research interest/ area before a duly constituted Departmental Research Committee through a PowerPoint presentation.
  • After verification of original certificates and payment of the prescribed fee structure for Ph.D. selected candidates shall be provisionally admitted for the Ph.D. program.

  • The entrance examination consists of 50% subject-specific questions and 50% of the research methodology.
  • Candidates will be exempted from writing the entrance examinations who have cleared Teacher-Fellowships/MPhil/NET/SLET/UGC/CSIR(JRF)/other National level eligibility test.
  • To qualify for the personal interview candidate should secure 50% marks in the entrance examination.

Exemption from Entrance Test

  • The following categories of candidates shall be exempted from appearing at the Written Test.
  • Candidates are exempted from entrance test who have qualified in GATE Examination, UGC/CSIR NET Examination and such Examinations conducted by lcMR, lcAR and other such National Bodies.
  • Candidates also exempted from entrance test who have passed M. Phil. / M. Tech/ M.E. But their admission in M. Phil / M. Tech/ M.E. Programme has been through an entrance examination.

Interview 

The applicants who qualify the Entrance Test will be called to meet. In the Interview/viva-voce, the applicants are required to talk about their examination intrigue/region through an introduction before an appropriately comprised Department Research Committee.
