MGU Kottayam PhD Admission 2026 - Fee Structure and How to Apply

Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam invites application for admission into its Doctor of Philosophy program for the session 2026. • Rs. 1050/- for general category

Eligibility

• The candidate shall have a Master’s degree in related discipline declared equivalent to Master’s Degree securing not less than 55% marks in aggregate.
• If a candidate proposes to do research in a subject not offered by the university with post-graduation from other universities the subject must equivalent to the corresponding subject in the university.
• The candidate will get relaxation of 5% of marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade in the following category:
•  Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC
•  Differently-abled candidates.
•  An applicant with a Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991.
• Candidates possessing a degree equivalent to M.Phil. degree. A candidate who is awaiting results can apply for the Ph.D. Programme without appearing for the Entrance Test.
• Candidates qualifying professional courses BDS, BVSc, BAMS, MBBS, BHMS, B.Tech. with 55% marks in aggregate with a duration of a minimum of four years.
• CA/ICWA/ACS qualified candidates with 55% of marks with names registered under the Institute of Cost Accountants/Chartered Accountants/Company Secretaries of India shall be eligible to apply for Ph.D. Programme in Management Studies and Commerce.
• Candidates may apply for Ph.D. registration who have qualified the Entrance Test or those who have been exempted from it.
• Those candidates can also apply who are awaiting results of the qualifying examination. They have to submit the documents pertaining to the result on or before 30th November 2020.

• Candidates under Visweswaraya Ph.D. Scheme
• Scientists from the accredited R&D Institutions
• M.Phil. degree holders in the subject concerned
• M.Tech. or equivalent degree holders
• M.D./M.S./M.D.S. degree holders
