Eligibility 

With at least 50% marks or equivalent grade point, average (GPA) candidate should have a post-graduate degree (Master degree) from any recognized University. 5% relaxation only for reserved category candidates. 

Entrance Test: 

Candidates who are seeking admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have to go through an entrance test.

Structure of the Entrance Test: 

The entrance test will have two papers paper-I and paper-II. With 100 marks Paper-I will be for the general knowledge and aptitude and paper-II will be for the subject concerned. Paper-I will have 100 questions with multiple options in the subject areas like language, literature, geography, logical reasoning, history, culture and on current affairs- regional, national and international. 

Standard in the Qualifying Entrance Test

Candidates who get at least 50% marks will be declared to have qualified to appear in the paper-II. 

Exemption from Entrance Test: 

• NET/SLET/JRF/SRF exam conducted by the UGC, DST, ICAR or CSIR passed candidates.
• Candidates with M.Phil. degree in the concerned subject. 
• Foreign students are exempted from the MSSVRAT. 

Admission Procedure: 

• For admission to the Registrar of the University eligible candidates shall apply.
• For a one semester, pre-registration course work as notified by the University eligible applicants shall have to take admission in the Department.
• Students are exempted from the course work who are M. Phil degree holders in regular mode and in the concerned subject.
