Eligibility for KTET 2026


Minimum Qualification Category I (For Classes I to V)

  • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary within any event 45% marks and two year Trained Teachers' Certificate TTC/DEd [by whatever name known] led by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its identical. 
  • OR Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with at any rate 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), as per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002. 
  • OR Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with at any rate half stamps and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) 
  • OR Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary within any event 50% and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). 
  • OR Other Equivalent capabilities. 


Minimum Qualification Category II (For classes VI to VIII)

  • B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. furthermore, a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/Trained Teachers' Certificate TTC/DEd [by whatever name known] directed by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its proportional. 
  • OR B.A/B.Sc/B.Com with at any rate 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), as per NCTE (Recognition, Norms, and Procedure) guidelines gave now and again in such manner. 
  • OR Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary within any event 50% and 4 years  Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

Minimum Qualification Category III (For classes VIII to X)

  • BA/BSc/B.Com within any event 45% marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the subject worried (from any of the Universities in Kerala or have procured these capabilities from some other Universities perceived as comparable thereto). 
  • OR For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, the individuals who have MSc.Ed. Degree in the subject worried about at least 50% from one of the Regional Institutes of Education supported by NCERT will be qualified to apply. For Botany and Zoology subjects, those with MSc.Ed. Minimum Qualification Category IV

[For Language Teachers in Arabic, Urdu, Sanskrit, Hindi (Up to Upper Primary Level), Specialist Teachers & Physical Education Teachers]

  • The individuals who have procured capabilities for the posts of Language Teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist instructors and Physical Education educators as referenced in Chapter XXXI of KERALA EDUCATION ACT AND RULES are qualified to apply for K-TET-IV 
  • OR Other Equivalent capabilities. 

Note-Candidates, who have obtained Certificate/Diploma/Degree in educating in any subject, and are endorsed by Universities/NCTE/Board of Examinations/Government of Kerala, are qualified to apply for K-TET-IV.
