Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram was set up in 2008 on a sprawling 200‑acre campus in the capital of Kerala. The institute began its journey in 2006 when the Ministry of Human Resource Development announced a new network of IISERs to boost science education across the country.
