Eligibility criteria

• Candidate should have a Master's degree or a professional degree in the concerned subject or an allied/interdisciplinary subject with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade B' in the UGC 7-point scale. for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC a relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% may be allowed. 
• Candidates may also apply who are appearing in the final semester of qualifying examinations. However, they should produce the documents at the time of interview, failing to which their candidature will be rejected. 

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected by the two-stage process through an entrance test (Multiple Choice Questions) and interview/viva-voce: 

Entrance Test

• Entrance Test will consist of two sections
• Section I: Research Methodology (50 marks)
• Section II: Subject-specific test (50 marks) based on Post Graduate syllabi of the concerned/ allied subject
• Total marks: 100
• The total number of questions will be 100 (50 in each section) objective type questions (Multiple Choice Questions). 
• For the syllabi of postgraduate programs of concerned subjects, candidate can visit the University website www.iimtu.com.
• The maximum time for Entrance Test: two hours
• Qualifying cut-off marks in Entrance Test shall be 50%.
• Candidates exempted from the entrance test along with all the qualified candidates in the Entrance Test shall be called for interview.

Interview

The interview shall be organized by the concerned Department of the University of 50 Marks where the candidates shall be required to discuss their research interest/area.
