Duration of the Programme

  • Minimum period of Three (03) years including Course Work 
  • And Maximum of Six (06) years from the date of registration


Eligibility

With a minimum of 55% of the aggregate marks, a recognized qualifying higher specialty postgraduate degree/diploma is essential (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently Abled Candidate). 

For registering for the Ph.D. (Medical & Allied Health Science) Degree, candidates with the following qualifications are eligible.

  • Candidates with MD/MS recognized by the Medical Council of India.
  • Candidates with super specialty degree M.Ch., Master of Chirurgiae, D.M. Doctor of medicine recognized by Medical Council of India.
  • Candidates with MRCP/FRCS, MD/MS or equivalent Master’s degree awarded by a College/University recognized by MCI.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in different Specialties: D.L.O., D.G.O., D.C.P., D.Ch., D.O., D.Ortho, D.A. recognized by Medical Council of India.
  • Candidates with qualification of D.N.B. in specialties/super-specialties.
  • Candidates with M.B.B.S. Degree with Three years of Laboratory Experience / Teaching / Clinical recognized by Medical Council of India.
  • Candidates with M.Sc. (Medical) - Physiology, Microbiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry and Pharmacology.
  • Candidates who have an M.Sc. in Medical Physics/Biophysics, M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences, M.Pharm/Pharm.D., M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. in Nursing Sciences, M.Sc. in Human Genetics, MPH and MHA are eligible.


Selection Criteria

  • The candidate will be selected on the base of the marks secured in the BLDE (DU) All India Entrance Examination and Personal interview.
  • Weightage of entrance test: 70%
  • Weightage of interview/viva-voce: 30%


Details of Ph.D. Entrance Test

  • Date & Time of Entrance Test - 12th August 2020, at 11.00 am
  • Total Marks - 50 marks
  • Marks allotted to Concerned Subject - 25 marks
  • Marks allotted to Research Methodology - 25 marks
  • Question Pattern - Multiple Choice Question (MCQ)
  • Duration - 1 hour
  • Venue - Anatomy Lecture Hall, BLDE (Deemed to be University) Campus, Vijayapur, Karnataka.


How to Apply?

Candidate who wants to take admission in the Ph.D. program may download the application from the University website and submit the duly filled applications with a crossed Demand Draft of Rs.2000/- along with requisite documents. The Demand Draft has drawn in favor of The Registrar BLDE (Deemed to be University), Vijayapura, Karnataka.

Course Work and Examination

  • The credits relegated to the Ph.D. course work will be at least eight (08) credits and limit of sixteen (16) credits. All the enlisted Ph.D. Researchers will be required to finish the Course Work recommended during the underlying one (01) year according to UGC Regulations, covering the points referenced in the prospectus of the Ph.D. Program. 
  • The Candidate will have at least 75% participation during the Course work. Toward the finish of the Course Work, there will be a Pre-Ph.D. Course work assessment. 
  • The Candidates need to make sure about at least 55% of the imprints, in Theory Papers independently in each Paper and in Viva-voce in the Pre-Ph.D. Course Work Examination

About University 

BLDE (Deemed to be University) appeared on 29/2/2008 with the sole target of giving quality Medical Education and meeting the medicinal services needs of the individuals in this retrogressive area of North Karnataka. Shri B. M. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Center, the main constituent school of the college, was built up in 1986. It has a unitary grounds of 45 sections of land with 24 divisions and a showing emergency clinic with 1125 beds. Shri B. M. Patil Medical College has been offering UG Program-MBBS (with an admission of 150 understudies), PG Programs in 21 orders, PG Super Specialty Program in Urology (M.Ch.), Ph.D. Program in 12 orders and Innovative courses like Fellowship, Diploma and Certificate Courses in Medical and Allied Sciences. Likewise, departmental structures of Biochemistry, Anatomy, and Microbiology have been extended, and offices redesigned. The college has been focusing on improving ICT offices, fortifying and redesigning preparing (Skills Lab.), research offices (Central Research Lab, Vascular Lab, and Genetics Lab). Computerized Integrated Campus Networking on Optical Fiber is in progress and will be appointed by June 2016. This year, to the offices of the current game, the pool has been included, and indoor games offices are coming up in the Shri B. M. Patil Medical College grounds.
