AU Bathinda PhD Admission 2026 - Dates, Eligibility, Application

Applications are invited by Adesh University, Bathinda in its Centre for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research for admission to its Ph.D. Program for the session beginning in 2026 tentatively. The Centre for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research established in 2013. Centre offers the Ph.D. program in the disciplines of Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences including Dental Sciences, Biotechnology, Health Professions Education, Nursing Sciences, Genetics, Microbiology, Community Rehabilitation, and Hospital Administration.


Application Process

  • The candidate who want to take admission should have to apply online before the end date of submission.
  • On the official website of the university i.e. www.adeshuniversity.ac.in application form will be available.
  • Processing fee for application form: Rs.5000 /-
  • Fee once paid shall not be refunded/adjusted in any case. 


Duration

  • Full time - (Minimum- 3 years, Maximum - 4 years)
  • Part time - (Minimum- 4 years, Maximum - 5 years)

Residential Requirement (Part-time)

  • A part-time teacher and non-teacher external scholars are required to reside on campus for a minimum 180 days.
  • The Research Supervisor concerned will decide what constitutes “residence” and where the residential requirement is to be fulfilled, considering the nature of the study and its requirements. The Research Supervisor shall send a certificate to the Registrar to the effect that the candidate has completed 180 days of campus residential requirement when submitting the thesis.

Eligibility: Candidate should have MD/MDS/MD or M.Sc. in Life Sciences with 55% marks or equivalent.


  • Ph.D. Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Ph.D. Allied Health Sciences (Dental Sciences, Health Professions Education, Nursing Sciences)

Eligibility: Candidate should have MD/M.Sc. in Pharmacology/Pharmaceutical Sciences/M.Pharma with 55% marks or equivalent.


  • Ph.D. Medical Genetics

Eligibility: Candidate should have MD/MDS/MD or M.Sc. in Genetics/Life Sciences/Human Biology with 55% marks or equivalent.


  • Ph.D. Hospital Administration

Eligibility: Candidate should have 55% marks in Bachelor degree in Dental Sciences/ Nursing/ Ayurvedic Medicine/ Physiotherapy/ Medicine and Surgery/ Paramedical Sciences/ Management followed by a postgraduate degree in the specialization/ management.


  • Ph.D. Community Rehabilitation

Eligibility: Candidate should have 55% marks in Bachelor degree in Nursing (B.Sc.)/ Physiotherapy (BPT)/ Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) followed by a postgraduate degree in Nursing (M.Sc.) or Physiotherapy (MPT) or Community Medicine (MD) or equivalent.


Selection Procedure

  • Admission will be given on the base of an entrance test at the level of the University. Candidates will be exempted from entrance test who have qualified following examinations GATE/SLET/Teacher Fellowship examination / UGC/CSIR-NET/JRF examination / M.Phil. examination.
  • For the Interview, all the candidates will appear. Doctoral candidates are expected to discuss their research interests/area at the time of the interview.
  • University will conduct Entrance Test and interview on a pre-announced date.
  • The duration for the Entrance Test will be 2 hours. One hour for testing the domain knowledge and one hour for testing Research Aptitude (General).
  • For provisional admission to Ph.D. program minimum of 50% score both in the test and interview is required.\

For Part time Ph.D. Programme

  • Tuition fee: Rs 50000/- (Per Semester)
  • Hostel Charges: Rs 13000/- (Per Semester)
  • Registration fee: Rs 5000/- (one time)
  • Security Deposit: Rs 10000/- (Refundable)
  • Thesis Charges will be notified at the time of thesis submission


Assessments and Continued Internal Assessment System 

  • During the semester, understudies will be persistently assessed for scholarly execution in each course through astonishment tests, three pre-declared assessments (First Hourly Examination, Mid Term Examination, Second Hourly Examination), instructional exercises, tasks, research project and End Semester Examination.
