PhD Programmes Overview
Ashoka University invites applications for admission into PhD programmes in the following disciplines:
- Biology
- Computer Sciences
- Economics
- English
- History
- Physics
- Psychology
Qualifications
- Students with an M.Sc/MA/M.Phil/M.Com/B.Tech/M.Tech with 55% and above are eligible.
- Students with CSIR Scholarship/UGC NET- JRF are welcome to apply.
- Students admitted must have a good understanding of their proposed area of research.
- Students must exhibit a high level of commitment to pursue research.
Admission Process
- Please file your applications electronically as per the deadline for the subject (click on the subject link above) by submitting a completed application form available on this page, together with scanned copies of required documents and the application fee.
- Please visit the programme pages for more information on programmes in different disciplines.
- Admission process includes one on one interview and written test.
- Those selected for admission will be automatically considered for Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships.
Fee
- Tuition fee: Rs. 12,500 per semester.
- Fee for application for admission: Rs.1,000 (non-refundable)
- Dissertation assessment fee: Rs. 15,000 for the first time, and Rs. 5,000 the second/third time.
Teaching Assistantships, Research Assistantships and Stipend
- To support the Ph.D. students (as per the rules and regulations) a fixed number of Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships will be offered by Ashoka University.
- To each TA or RA a contingency grant of Rs. 20,000 per annum will be made available.
