Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Medical College, Ambajogai is that the 1st Rural Medical faculty in Asia. Dr. V.K. Dawale, FRCS was the founder Dean of this Medical faculty. His dream, dedication, and efforts of beginning a medical faculty during this country finally came true. The first batch of fifty students was admitted within the month of July 1975 and passed move into 1979. The Medical Council of India scrutiny Team was affected at the performance of the scholars and so happy to convey recognition to the present faculty, even before the first batch of M.B.B.S. students passed out. The Post-Graduate courses in numerous subjects were conjointly started with the permission of the presidency of geographic area and Medical Council of Asian nation. the primary batch of Post-Graduates came move into 1981.In year 1998, the bed strength of the hospital was increased to five hundred. New faculty building was completed in year 2008, and Deans workplace, Pre and Para-Clinical Departments are shifted within the new building.New Residents Hostel of capability 124 rooms has been completed in year 2009 and currently providing accommodation to the Resident Doctors from Jan 2010.New hospital building (Medicine Unit) was completed in year 2007, and Dept of medical specialty, ICU unit, drugs Unit are shifted there.Construction for the New 230 bedded hospital (Surgical Unit) is ongoing and can be completed in close to future.
