Centurion University of Technology and Management was established in 2005 as Jagannath Institute for Technology and Management (JITM). Through an act of Odisha Legislative Assembly, later in 2010 JITM was transformed into Centurion University of Technology and Management. In Odisha it is the First Multi-Sector State Private University. To provide high quality education both nationally and internationally university was started by a group of ambitious academics. 

The University has five campuses which are located at Bhubaneswar, Rayagada, Paralakhemundi, Bolangir and Chatrapur. These five campuses has a number of schools according to various streams. They are: M. S. Swaminathan School of Agriculture, School of Basic Sciences, School of Allied Health Sciences and Paramedics, School of Engineering and Technology, School of Management, School of Media and Communication, School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, School of Architecture and Planning, School of Vocational Education and Training and the Institute of Knowledge Societies.
